  New Places to Recruit Top Agents

 

It is always a good time to build your team with top notch agents.  Good agents understand the business of real estate and how to make things happen.  Top agents also understand working with vendors, co-workers, and the community.

 

So where do you find these top agent?  In a number of places.  Give these places and try, and remember recruiting is an ongoing process.  Therefore, in addition to just looking for agents, put a monthly recruiting process in place.

 

1.  Women at Work   and related type organizations hold job fairs and encourage employers to talk with their members.  Their membership covers a range of people with diverse background.  Women at Work are quite visible in their communities and their network is a nation wide organization.
 

 

2.  Outplacement Organizations   There are a number of companies that help displace workers from all types of industries.  From retail sales to product sales agents; think medical sales, furniture sales, cosmetics sales, etc.  These are people with diverse experiences and people knowledge; some may be a fit for your brokerage.
 

 

3.  On Campus Recruitment   Ever thought of joining other companies in setting up a booth on college campus?  Campus recruiting goes beyond the traditional undergraduate.  Today, there are working adults taking classes, graduate students looking to change careers, and some adults looking to start new careers.

 

 

4.  HR Directors    There are a number of companies downsizing and cutting costs.  The Human Resources (HR) department is responsible for referring these people to job placement agencies.  You'll find that a number of HR Directors really want to do what they can to help the person transition.  Therefore, networking with the HR Director could lead to new recruits for your brokerage.

 

5.  Career Change Websites   There are a number of places on the internet to search for potential recruits.  However, focusing your search on specific types of websites can yield better results.  Try checking websites devoted to persons looking for a career change.  Often these are people who want to work for themselves and are looking for opportunities that will help them do just that.
